URBAN Resilience and Climate Change Senior Technical Officer

Mercy Corps is seeking to hire a URBAN Resilience and Climate Change Senior Technical Officer who will be responsible for the leadership of the resilience & climate change technical components of the Maloa Urban Resilience Initiative program. This program includes goals around improving the climate resilience of the Maloa watershed through landscape and ecosystem management to support environmental, economic, and social development in Dili. The program will work to ensure that the urban Maloa watershed community, local government, and private sector actors have knowledge, skills, capacities, access to resources to develop and implement climate resilience, economic development, and COVID recovery strategies and plans.

Based in Dili, Degree in Climate Change, Disaster Risk Reduction or another related degree; Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders to get important work done. Specific experience working with livelihood business stakeholders and private sectors and local government in Timor is a plus.
